Getting Started - Basic Navigation

Thanks for joining Orthodox Biz. This guide will get you started using the many services that Orthodox Biz offers.

Logging In

After you have registered with Orthodox Biz, you will be able to login. The User Login is at the top of each page of Orthodox Biz. it looks like this:

After you enter your username and password and click Login, the login area will change to this:

The icon of the person will always take you to your profile. The icon of the person with the wrench opens your profile for editing.

The first time you log in to Orthodox Biz, you will be directed to this page. Each time after that, you will be directed to your profile. See below. (Click image for a larger view.)

Your Profile

Your profile has three upper tabs which are described below:

• Portrait - This is your picture which you can upload. To upload a picture, mouse over the Edit button and you can see the drop down menu shown below:

See the option to Update Your Image? Select that option to upload a picture of yourself. This is not for your business entry. That is separate. However, this is for your blog (if you have one) and for other members to identify you. The portrait can be a max of 500 px wide by 200 px high and no more than 2 MB. Images bigger than this can not be uploaded. If you image is big, then reduce it before you upload. Or, you can email it to webmaster@orthodoxbiz.com and we can upload it for you after resizing it.

• Contact - These are contact details.
• About Me - Some personal details about yourself.

The lower tabs on your profile are used to review and enter information in the Orthodox Biz system. Here is a quick rundown:

• Directory Entries - Here you can review the entries you have in the Orthodox Biz directory. You can select existing entries to edit them. You can also click the Add New button on the upper left of the tab to add a new entry in the directory. See below:

• Articles - Here you can see all the articles you have contributed to Orthodox Biz, whether new entries or blogs. Even unpublished articles will show up here.
• Mailing Lists - These are the Orthodox Biz eNewsletters you receive. To change them, edit your profile.
• MyBlog - Here you can see your blog entries, and go to the My Blog Dashboard to enter new blogs, or to edit existing blog entries. See below:

Remember, for Gold members and higher who have blogs, the My Blog Dashboard is where you create new blog entries, edit existing blog entries, and publish/unpublish blogs.

• Comments - Here you can view all the comments you have made on Orthodox Biz. Well, comments that you made while logged in. If you post comments without being logged in, then you will not be able to view them here later.
