The All Powerful Blog

When it comes to search engine placement, content is king. One way to get content on your site is to have a blog component installed. The other day I was checking out how people were getting to www.freebeerbuddy.com. One of the keywords that people had typed in was Mark Dallmeyer.Mark is the owner and founder of Dallmeyer Industries Inc and Healthy Remnants started in 1999 with ideas on the health of teas produced by breweries.

Mark had done a blog about a Boston Brewery event that he had attended and in less than 3 weeks of that blog being posted, www.freebeerbuddy.com was top of the list when Mark Dallmeyer’s name was googled. Now that this is being posted on www.corfun.com and www.orthodoxbiz.com I expect all three websites will be on the front page of Google when Mark Dellmeyer is googled. Check it out. How cool is that?

I know of churches and business professionals who have website but use Google or other blogs to write on. That is OK but the content of that blog is not automatically drawing visitors to your main site like it would if it was integrated.

To correct this, you have to do something that many 'off site' bloggers forget to do - point to your site by mentioning your site in the blog. You can do this by referencing your services or something else about your company in the blog, or you can sign the blog with your contact information and your Website.

It is OK to use other blogs on other sites, particularly if they have good Search Engine placement, just remember to use it wisely to drive traffic to your site. I look at blogs, and social networks as free advertising. You can read more on social networking by clicking here.

No one is going to promote you as good as you.
