Question: I submitted my first blog entry by copying it from a Microsoft Word for Mac document, and all the italics and boldface print disappeared.
Answer: There are two buttons for pasting into the blog. Going from left to right, the first clipboard icon has a 'T' on it. If you mouse over it, then the pop up tells you that this is 'Paste as Plain Text.' If you click this button and then paste into the pop up window, then the text will be scrubbed of all formatting. The second clipboard icon has a 'W' on it. If you mouse over it, the pop up information tells you that it is for pasting from Microsoft Word. If you click this button, and then paste into the Window, the pasted-in text should keep formatting characters such as bold or italics.
You can always add bold, italics, etc. to text using the editor tool. That's how I normally do it. I compose in relatively plain text, and then add the formatting inside the blog entry later. Other people make it look just the way they want it to in Word, then copy and paste it in. Either way works.
By the way, if the blog window is too small, just click the lower right-hand corner of the entry window and drag it down to increase the size.
