Islam and the Middle East
Examining the "Golden Age of Islamic Civilization"
A critical piece looking at the truth behind the Islamic Golden Age we hear so much about.
In this article, I explored the possible impacts of an American invasion on the Christian population of Iraq. Relying on historical precedence of past Western occupations of Muslim territories, I speculated that the U.S. occupation could prove ruinous for the native Christians of Iraq.
In this article, I covered the ongoing problems of the Iraqi Assyrian Christian population as the U.S. occupation of Iraq continued.
As the Democratic experiment in Iraq proved ever more disastrous to the Iraqi Christians, I became concerned the that U.S. might be ramping up for an expansion of the war to Syria. While the Ba'athist regmie has huge drawbacks, the fact is that Syria is more tolerant of its Christian population than almost any Middle Eastern nation. Also, by the time this was written, literally hundreds of thousands of Assyrians had fled Iraq and were hiding in Syria. The idea that their last place of refuge might also end up as a war zone prompted me to write this piece.
Bush's Global War on Christians
In this article, I highlighted the destructive nature of President Bush's policies as related to foreign Christian populations from Iraq to Europe. I especially took him to task for supporting Turkey's bid to become a member of the EU, with the large increase in Muslim immigration to Europe that would ensue. Many of the worst policies, of course, were actually continuations of Clinton's bad ideas (like independence for Kosovo). These policies were actually repudiated by the electorate in 2000, but for some reason President Bush has felt compelled to continue them.
The End of Christianity in Iraq
As the war has dragged on, the future of Christianity in Iraq is increasingly in doubt. In fact, on the oldest and most historic Christian populations in the world may soon cease to exist.

Dan Brown's Debt to Protestantism
In this piece, I examine the similarities between Dan Brown's ideas in the Da Vinci Code and some of the Evangelical church history I was taught as a child.
Being a father gives you a unique perspective on Salvation, as you begin to understand the relationship of parent to child.
