Sheet Music Club for Harpists PDF Print E-mail

If you have ever belonged to a Book of the Month club, you will understand the concept behind Maryjean Zarick’s newest membership website, HarpMusicNow.com.

Maryjean, a professional harpist and composer, began publishing books for the harp in 1987 under the name of Paradise Music. But with rising costs of printing and shipping, Maryjean began offering a few sheet music downloads on her former website ParadiseHarpMusic.com. As the downloads became more popular than printed books, Maryjean converted her publishing operation to a download only business.

The new domain name reflects the instant nature of the website. Harpists pay a $22 per year membership fee for unlimited access to all sheet music downloads, which they can print and begin to practice immediately. Maryjean is diligent about keeping the website current and populated with new arrangements every month. She has even invited members to upload their own harp arrangements to share with others. Sound bites of selected pieces can be accessed on the homepage.

In addition to sheet music downloads the website offers classified ads, video harp lessons and Maryjean’s blog “What’s On Your Stand?,” in which she reviews a variety of harp music and books available from harp retail stores.
