The Ark is the flagship Internet radio station for the Orthodox Christian Network. If you are an Orthodox musician, you've probably heard of it. But, did you know that your music could be featured?

That's right - The Ark is always looking for music to play! Are you an Orthodox musician? Then please send us your music! Ron Moore, who serves as programming and marketing director for The Ark, has prepared the following guidelines for potential submissions.

We are open to a wide variety of styles, but keep the following in mind:

1. The music and artists must be supportive and encouraging to the Orthodox Christian life in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. The music must meet the best possible craftsmanship as far as performance, recording, and writing.

If one listens to The Ark, you can get a good idea of what we carry. But we want to be open to fresh things we've never heard!

General Styles

Contemporary: folk, folk rock, rock, alternative, indie, jazz (So far we have not played metal, or heavy rock. We are not opposed to this, it just needs to be really really good, and not give our intellectual, coffee-drinking X Generation listeners heart attacks.)

Traditional: Liturgical and traditional Church music. The Ark is geared to the Western ear, and so we play mostly Western style voice liturgical music, usually in English. We avoid operatic and heavily ethnic works that might be strange rather than fresh to our listeners. We do play some ethnic music that is appreciated widely by Westerners.
