Economic times are, to say the least, uncertain. Many companies are laying off workers as they struggle to weather the ongoing economic storm. Chris Romac is an entreprenuer who may have the answer for people searching for new opportunities in these challenging times. Chris expects her business to double in the next four years, even as many other companies shrink or disappear entirely. In this interview, Chris talks about her business model, going green, and how to make money from home while taking care of your family.

OB: Your Company is called, “Work at Home United,” and I see you advertising for, for example, business-minded moms. Give us an introduction to what your company does.

Chris: “Work at Home United” is a team of individuals dedicated to helping people who may have an interest in having a business, working from home, finding a way to add or replace income, or improve on the quality of their life. I refer them to a company that can help them to do just that. We are proud to be partnered with an Inc. 500 International Wellness Company called Melaleuca. For 23 years now, Melaleuca has given thousands of people the opportunity to improve the quality of their environment, enjoy a better health, save time and money in many areas of life and earn a part time or full time income from home. What I do is introduce people to the many benefit of Melaleuca, for example their natural and environmentally sensitive products. In addition, I offer people the opportunity to earn an extra income by becoming part of my team and helping others do the same.

OB: Economic times are hard with layoffs affecting a lot of families. People in need of new opportunities to either augment or replace income. Who should be considering your business as their next big opportunity?

Chris: While I have advertised for “business-minded moms," I have various types of business professionals, teachers, doctors, senior citizens, stay-at-home moms and dads that make up my team. Today, many people have financial concerns including credit card debt, rising education costs, healthcare costs, job security and saving for retirement. “Work at Home United” has the solution for these concerns. If you have a goal to improve your finances or quality of life and need to put your trust in a company whose mission is to do just that, then, teaming up with me will accomplish that. Anyone can do this business. It is the desire and drive to want to change what you are doing now, that will determine your success.

OB: I’ve heard you talk about “greening your life." Can you dive deeper into that phrase? Is this a lifestyle commitment in addition to a business opportunity?

Chris: The phrase “going green” has been around for many years. It’s wonderful to see such a growing awareness. As stewards to God’s creation, I feel very strongly that we all have a responsibility to take care of our environment…and make healthy choices everyday. Our choices DO affect the environment. Many people think “going green” is about recycling and energy conservation. People have come to realize that “going green” means much more and that ….it’s also being mindful of the consumable products you bring into your home.

There are many harmful ingredients in products we use everyday. Think about the products you keep under your kitchen and bathroom sink. Window cleaner? Bleach? Laundry and dishwashing detergent? Shampoo? Mouthwash? These products can be lethal and have serious toxic chemicals in them. Did you know that there are name brand baby shampoos with formaldehyde in them..this is a potential cancer causing agent…or that bleach is a registered pesticide with the EPA? Common household cleaners alone are linked to the increase of chronic illness in children like cancer, asthma, ADD, birth defects and other problems. Why use them when there is a non-toxic alternative that is less expensive to what families are currently purchasing and are significantly superior in effectiveness and quality. I have helped many families make major improvements in their health just by helping them make practical changes in their homes using safer products. I am passionate about “going green”. This business allows me to teach others the importance of healthy green living. It is such a rewarding feeling to be able to make a living helping others.

OB: Given the economic situation, how do you see your business fairing over the next three to five years?

Chris: The economic situation our country faces today is alarming. It can be said that a shadow has been cast on the “American dream”. My company however, is projected to double in size in the next four years. The ease at which your home based business can be started is amazing. I am helping more and more people be able to get back on track with their financial goals which really help in these challenging times. The premise is so simple. I introduce people to our company and exceptional products. They in turn, tell others and receive a commission for doing this. The cycle continues as more people see the value to making a positive change in their life. The possibilities for success are endless. I have a sign on my car that says “WORK FROM HOME - INCOME FOR LIFE”. I truly believe that we will continue to grow as people become familiar with the value and benefits that I have to offer.

OB: There are other companies out there that offer similar opportunities. What makes yours such a unique offering?

Chris: Before I joined the “Work at Home United” team, I researched numerous other businesses. My goal was to replace my Corporate America income and stay at home with my three children. I was not happy with the thought of putting my children in daycare while I was at an office, so I felt the need to explore the possibility of working from home and finding a reputable and growing company. My research led me to Melaleuca and “Work at Home United”. This is a different type of business. No other company in the world does business like we do AND we are NOT multi-level marketing. Some unique characteristics of this company that you won’t find at other companies are the no large investment to start up your business, no carrying of inventory, no making deliveries and no billing and collections.
