Dirk recently spoke to Father Chris Metropulos of the Orthodox Christian Network about the current humanitarian crisis and the response from IOCC and world organizations. Prior to this round of fighting, over 80% of the residents in Gaza were on some kind of assistance program. This fact reflects the widespread misery and poverty of the Palestinians living in Gaza. Your help is desperately needed! To find out more about how to contribute to the IOCC as it seeks to do the work of Christ, click here. Click below to listen to Dirk's interview with Father Chris..

The deadliest conflict in Gaza in four decades has killed hundreds and wounded thousands. International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) has released emergency funds and is working in cooperation with other humanitarian aid organizations to deliver medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to Gaza hospitals that are stretched to capacity. “Gaza was already in a desperate situation before this increased conflict with a significant lack of food, medicine, fuel and electricity. All commodities are in scarce supply,” said Dirk Lackovic-van Gorp, IOCC’s Representative for the Palestinian Territories.
