International Religious Group Denounces Mumbai Terrorism The Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church—Canonical (Exarchate of the United States of America and All-Canada) (UAOCC) The Exarchate Of the Unites States of America and All-Canada officially mourns and denounces the tragic loss of human life in the terrorist attack on the defenseless citizens and visitors to this major Indian metropolis. For Immediate Release PRESS RELEASE International Religious Group Denounces Mumbai Terrorism The Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church—Canonical (Exarchate of the United States of America and All-Canada) (UAOCC) hereby officially decries the recent atrocities inflicted upon the innocent victims during the Mumbai, India terrorist attack. The UAOCC opposes all actions directed toward the inhumane termination of life at any stage, and specifically against the young, infirm, elderly, and innocent non-combatants. The UAOCC decries the unnecessary loss of life that occurred during the terrorist attack on the residents and visitors recently in the Indian city of Mumbai. The UAOCC deeply mourns this collective loss of life, which included young children who were signaled out because of their Western heritage, and those specifically racially and ethnically targeted for death, such as Rabbi Gavriel and Rivkah Holtzberg, the beloved directors of Chabad-Lubavitch of Mumbai. These individuals were unquestionably targeted because of who they were, as opposed to anything that they could have done to deserve such treatment. Vladika Jorge Rodriguez-Villa, as Exarch of the UAOCC—Exarchate of the United States of America and All-Canada, hereby encourages all of our brothers and sisters of all religious expressions to join us in our protest at this and all such unnecessary suffering and death. Let us gather to challenge our collective government authorities to officially denounce this horrible human carnage, and to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent a recurrence of such actions. The UAOCC, as part of an international religious organization renders her garment in mourning at this extensive loss of life and the widespread collateral grief experienced by so many, so widely. Our hearts go out to all the family and friends of the dead and injured, along with special prayers for the Jewish missions of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and the heart sick in Crown Heights, New York, the home and headquarters of the Lubavitch community.
