In today's economy, more and more business activities are being structured inside a project framework. Whether its building a house, rolling out a new software solution, or launching a new product line, project management tools and techniques are becoming common place. However, there are a couple of drawbacks to typical project management software like Microsoft Project. The biggest of these is that, as a PC-based application, it is not shared among users. The project plan itself, and the tasks associated with it, are kept locked up on someone's hard drive. Reports, task lists, Gantt charts, etc. are distibuted among the project team, but the actual project itself is not available. Further, managing a project means managing a group of people. The group needs a document repository, a shared calendar, and other such tools that are often called groupware. Larger companies accomodate these needs by having file servers (share drives) and use tools like Outlook to provide group calendars. What do smaller companies and ministries use? Well, the answer now is that they can use Orthodoxbiz. Gold level members and above have access to a robust project planning software package. This package lets you establish a project and grant access to site members as part of groups who can be part of the project team. Assign tasks to your project team members and track those through to completion. There is a shared calendar for scheduling events, and a quick reference to remind you of events that are coming up. There's also an excellent document repository which lets you upload documents for shared reference by the team. For a very reasonable price, Orthodoxbiz puts a great deal of project planning power at your disposal. And, don't forget, that if your project team does not belong to Orthodoxbiz, additional memberships are available at a discount. This makes the use of Orthodoxbiz very affordable for your project planning needs. |
