Orthodoxbiz publishes a lot of articles. Many of the articles are written by experts in their fields who are sharing that expertise as a form of advertising for their own goods and services. Allowing registered members to comment on articles serves a number of beneficial purposes for everyone. First, it gives you an opportunity to ask the author direct questions. If you need clarification, further information, or just want to get to the bottom of something, commenting on an article is an immediate way to establish direct contact. In addition, commenting allows you to build your own name recognition. No article is ever so complete that there is nothing more to say. If you have additional knowledge and expertise that readers should know, then sharing that information helps put you are the radar screen. It is an easy way to garner attention, and to build up additional presence both on Orthodoxbiz and on the Internet in general. Also, commenting helps further the networking process. It 'breaks the ice' and gets you into discussion with your fellow Orthodox Christian business professionals. After some good comments, you will suddenly find more Connection Requests flowing your way, along with requests to join more groups, etc. Finally, the community's commenting system is a self-regulating function. The editors of this site know a bunch, but we don't know everything. Collectively though, we pretty well cover all bases. Press releases or other features might crop up that have inaccurate or at least debatable points. If you see something that falls in that category, then jump in and start a discussion over it. You'll be glad you did. |
